Two Nepali UN workers abducted in Darfur
Furnished men have stole three UN displaced person organization staff members, including two Nepali nationals, from Sudan's strife-torn Darfur district, a nearby government official told AFP on Monday. Two Nepalis and a Sudanese national working for UNHCR were snatched Sunday in Geneina, the capital of West Darfur state. "A gathering of furnished men hijacked yesterday three UNHCR specialists, two Nepalis and a Sudanese, from Geneina," Abdelah Mustafa, representative for the state legislature of West Darfur told AFP. "Police are looking for the ruffians." UNHCR authorities were not instantly accessible for input, but rather its representative in Khartoum told AFP by instant message that a meeting was in progress to talk about the "earnest occurrence". Darfur has been inundated in a lethal clash since 2003 when ethnic minority bunches waged war against President Omar al-Bashir's Arab-ruled government, which propelled a merciless counter-revolt. No less than 300,000 individuals have been slaughtered and 2.5 million uprooted in Darfur from that point forward, the UN says. Bashir is needed by the International Criminal Court on atrocities and genocide charges identified with Darfur, which he denies. Sudan demands that the contention in Darfur has finished, and that it needs UN peacekeepers who have been conveyed in the district the span of France since 2007 to leave.@myrepublica
